As we consider the needs of our parish and the adult faith formation opportunities that exist, we want to be sure that we are selecting programs that you want to participate in and meet your interests. Could you spend 2-5 minutes and briefly answer the following question:

ECUMENICAL BOOK GROUP DISCUSSION POSTPONED TO FEB. 9
In light of the Seahawks in the Superbowl, the Ecumenical Book Group's discussion of "Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth" by Reza Aslan is postponed to 4 to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9. The discussion will occur at the Senior Center, 10004 SW Bank Road. Rick Paquette will facilitate. All are welcome.

In "Zealot," Aslan, an Iranian-American Muslim and Bible scholar, offers an historical account of Jesus that portrays him as a rebel against Rome and the Jewish elite. The March book is "To Heaven and Back" by Mary C. Neal.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL There will be a collection for St. Vincent de Paul after the masses next weekend, February 8-9.

CATHOLIC ADVOCACY DAY IN OLYMPIA, FEB. 21
Join members of our parish St. Vincent de Paul Society at Catholic Advocacy Day in Olympia on Friday, Feb.21 to talk with state lawmakers about proposed legislation that would help the poor and vulnerable. Areas include housing, economic justice, health care, child welfare, life issues, environment, and criminal justice. The day begins at 9 am at St. Michael Church with a legislative briefing and Mass celebrated by Archbishop J. Peter Sartain. Mid-day is devoted to pre-arranged meetings with lawmakers. The day concludes at 3 pm.

Calling all Golfers!
An informal SJV golf team is forming to play in the business league at the Golf Club - (club membership is not required - open to all!). If you are a serious golfer,this may not be for you. We are looking for 5 people who wish to play some golf and have fun. Play is on Tuesday evening at 5 PM starting May 21 and continuing into summer. It is 9 holes in a scramble format so there is no pressure. For more info contact Robert 253-579-4682.
