Spiritual Direction with Sister Joyce Cox, BVM, April 4th and 6th
Sister Joyce Cox will be at the parish on Friday, April 4th, and Sunday, April 6th, to meet individually with parishioners for spiritual direction, or as Sister Joyce prefers to call it, spiritual companionship. No two spiritual direction sessions are exactly alike. Persons seeking spiritual direction bring what is in their hearts and on their minds - difficulties or consolations in prayer, pending decisions or significant dreams, stories of struggle or success. During the session, both persons in the dialogue listen for signs of the Holy Spirit. This may come as a suggestion, gentle challenge, Scripture passage, or perhaps words of encouragement. If you have questions about this or would like to schedule a session for spiritual direction with Sister Joyce on either April 4th or 6th, please email or phone Connie Walker: 463-9871 or

CRS Rice Bowl - For Lent, For LifeEach Lent we are asked to reach out to those in need by contributing to Operation Rice Bowl. We join with other Catholics across America as the Body of Christ to help others both in foreign countries and here in the US. The Wednesday night dinner for those in need at the Episcopal Church here on Vashon receives a grant from Rice Bowl. Through prayer, fasting, almsgiving, and education we can not only help meet other's physical and spiritual needs but also gain empathy and understanding. The Rice Bowl website, , has interactive activities for your family and even an app to put on your phone. Children received Rice Bowls in class last week. For the rest of us they are available in the basket in the narthex. Please give generously. What we give up for Lent can make a difference.
