DIVINE MERCY LAMB ROAST
St. John Vianney, Vashon Island, April 27th. You and yours are invited to a traditional 'cordero al asador' lamb spit roast. We'll gather at 2:30pm to watch the final stages of the roast, taking it off the fire at 3 to rest while we pray/chant the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Then we'll carve and serve the meal at 3:30. We'll be roasting all day; come when you can. Meat and flatbread will be provided. Appetizers, side-dishes, desserts and drinks will be potluck style, so bring your favorite dish. Hopefully weather will permit outdoor play of all kinds. All are welcome. Bring your friends and family and celebrate this 2nd Sunday of Easter with us. - Love, The Sheards

An Evening Soiree! - Saturday, May 17 5:45-8:00pm in the Social Hall
This adults only evening will feature tasty hors d'oeurves, fine wine, live piano music, lovely ambiance, lively conversation and a silent auction of delightful items, donated services, and decadent desserts! Tickets are $25 each (include hors d'oeurves and 2 glasses of wine) and will go on sale April 26 after all Masses.

If you have an item or service to donate or would like to provide a decadent dessert for the silent auction, please leave it in the copy room or contact Maria Pottinger (463-2129). Some ideas of services include: "a weekly loaf of bread for 1 month" or "a pie a month for 3 months" or "a monthly arrangement of flowers from my garden for 3 months" or "a dozen eggs every other week for...."

ST JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH PRESENTS THE PLAY “ART”Come see St. John Vianney's stage production of Yasmina Reza’s tragic comedy “ART” featuring actors Steve Tosterud, Kirk Beeler and Fr. Marc Powell, with direction by Ken Drew, stage managed by Jim Roy and sound by Jamie Dulfer.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. on June. 13th, 14th, and 15th in the parish hall.

The play is appropriate for ages 13+, but please no infants or small children as crying will disrupt actors, audience and show. The event is free, but a $10-$20 donation is suggested; donations help fund enhancement of our developing theater space. If anyone has a 3 seat couch the we could use for the show, please reach out to Fr. Marc or Ken Drew (360-657-1933).

ECUMENICAL BOOK GROUP
"Living Gently in a Violent World," by Stanley Hauerwas and Jean Vanier, will be discussed by the Vashon Ecumenical Book Group from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, May 4, at Vashon Lutheran Church, 18623 Vashon Hwy SW. All are welcome. Hauerwas, a theologian, and Vanier, founder of L'Arche community, collaborate in this short volume to show how people with disabilities witness to the heart of the gospel. The group's June book is "What We Talk About When We Talk About God" by Rob Bell.

FIRST FRIDAY ADORATIONAdoration on First Friday in May will be cancelled, but will resume on June 6th 6pm-9pm.

Family Life Conference – St. Pius X, Mountlake Terrace – May 10thArchbishop J. Peter Sartain will be the keynote speaker at the conference on Saturday, May 10th, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mountlake Terrace. This exciting event is an all day affair from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and will feature internationally known speakers such as Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, Pia de Solenni, radio host of My Catholic Faith, Tom Curran, and Mark Shea (Mark will be speaking to the young people in a breakout called 'Teen Track.’) For more information and to register, or call (425) 775-7545 or visit www.stpx.org.
