Announcements 8/3

A huge "Thank You" to Constance Walker for her dedicated ministry as our Pastoral Associate For Faith Formation, and before that, our Pastoral Associate for Administration.

And a huge "Welcome Aboard" to Constance's replacement in faith formation, parishioner Heidi Tosterud, who SJV officially hired last month and who started in the position effective August 1. Constance will remain on staff until October to help train Heidi. I invite you to please thank Constance for her service and to welcome Heidi to her new role.

Here’s a Big Salmon Bake Thank You!
The weather was brilliant, the music awesome, and the beer was cold. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped at Salmon Bake! From baking to fire tending this was an event not to be missed and a truly wonderful meal was shared by about 300 people. A special thank you to Bruce Johns and Family and Mike Lande and family for all the delicious food. But there are many others to thank for a smooth running event!
Some highlights: Irene Malli won the 50/50, Joe Burnett took home the Raffle prize and 20 people will go to the Dinner with Father, hosted by Tom and Jo Ann Bardeen, at the end of August.
All together a wonderful Community and Parish Picnic! Thank you!
There is salmon available for sale in the freezer. $6/pound (cooked and uncooked).
Please speak with someone in the office if you are interested!

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

MUSIC WILL RETURN TO SATURDAY VIGILBeginning mid-August, music will return to the 5PM Saturday Vigil Mass on a permanent basis, with a cantor and accompanist to lead hymns and prayers. Regular SJV volunteer cantors and accompanists, as well as a new face or two, will rotate at the 5PM Vigil Mass. Please take a moment to thank them for their service and commitment. When we sing, we pray twice!

The level of arsenic in our tap water is slightly elevated. The acceptable standard went from 50ppb (parts per billion) to 10 ppb in 2001. Our current water has about 22-25 ppb. This will continue through the summer or until we get a significant amount of rain. More information is available at
