Announcements Sept. 7

We are greatly in need of greeters and ushers for the 10:30am Mass. Please pray and discern if there is a calling within your heart to serve the Lord during Mass as a greeter and usher.

Please use the envelopes for the Build Hope collection. The collection supports the Catholic Church’s national and local efforts to address the root causes of poverty and to communicate the Gospel message through modern media. Helping those in need and sharing the good news are essential to our mission as disciples of Jesus. Please be generous. “His heart was moved with pity for them…” Mark: 6:34

RCIA Inquiry Classes
Inquiry classes for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults are starting soon! The Period of Inquiry is the time when individuals who are considering becoming Catholic (known as inquirers) have their questions about God, Christ, the Church, its structure and teachings answered. It is also a time when inquirers are given an explanation of the Gospel, are rooted in the fundamentals of Christian teaching, and are supported as they discern their desire to begin a more formal study and explanation of Catholicism. If you wish more information, have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Heidi Tosterud at 206-380-2779 or You may also call the office.

Volunteers for RCIA
Next month RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) will begin. Volunteers are needed to help with Dismissals during the Period of Catechumenate as well as to assist with teaching during all phases of the program. If you are interested in working with the adults who are inquiring or are preparing to become Catholic in this way, please contact Heidi Tosterud at 206-380-2779 or You may also call the office.

OFF ISLAND: Liturgy of the Hours Retreat
September 12-14, 2014 Archbishop Brunett Retreat Center at the Palisades
Andrew Casad & Br. Aelred Woodard, O.S.B. Andrew Casad came to love the Liturgy of the Hours after the birth of his daughter. Whenever their "infant feeding alarm" went off, he and his wife would arise and pray it together while she nursed. (206) 7487991
