Salmon Bake
Save the date! The Annual Salmon Bake will be July 26th 1:15pm - 4:30pm.

Archbishop go so well! Special mention goes to those who headed coordination of the liturgy, the reception, and art and environment in the worship space: Kathy Myer-Gilmore, Kris Cushing, Jennifer Charnews and Ellen Stewart. Thank-you to everyone who helped these coordinators with their own time, talent and treasure of flowers, kitchen work, clean-up and other odd jobs. Also, we could not have fed the masses of hungry people without all the generous families who provided delicious food to share. And congratulations to all our recently Confirmed ... may the Holy Spirit be with you in your continuing faith-journey and ministry!

Just 2 weeks after the earthquake struck, the death toll has surpassed 8,000. More than 500,000 homes have been damaged or destroyed—and now today, another earthquake, magnitude 7.3, struck outside of Kathmandu.

Our brothers and sisters in Nepal still need our help.

CRS received 8,000 tarpaulins last Thursday, and we have reached more than 2,000 families. We’re now exploring remote areas by helicopter so we can bring supplies to communities stranded by landslides. We are also distributing water treatment kits, hygiene kits and blankets to 15,000 families.

Will you help us continue to respond to the needs of these families? Shelter is always an urgent need in the first weeks—and with monsoon season approaching, we want to help families rebuild as quickly as possible.

SJV Ministry Fair

May 30-31
On the weekend of May 30th-31st our parish is asking each of you to consider what more you can do here at St. John Vianney as a member of our community. After each Mass that weekend you will find your friends and fellow parishioners ready to answer questions about all our ministries and hoping to sign you up--to serve with Fr. Marc on the altar, or to share some of the maintenance of our lovely grounds, or to teach our faith to the children of our parish as a catechist, or to serve muffins and happy greetings at Coffee Hour, or to arrange flowers, or even to do some logging for firewood for those in need of heat. The list of ways you can make SJV a more sacred, generous, beautiful, and cheery place is long. All through this month please think about what you can share with your church, and then at the Ministry Fair, sign up. And if there is a new ministry you would like to see represented that weekend, let us know. Please call Kristen Elliott with questions, 529-4119. Thank you.
