Faith Formation evenings
Thursdays 6:30-8:30 in the Social Hall
St. John Vianney is currently offering Faith Formation evenings on Thursday nights February 4th, 11th, 25th; and March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 31st. Childcare will be provided and there will be light refreshments. The evening includes the following:

  • Prayer
  • YDisciple
  • Middle and High School youth participants
  • Small groups meetings, building relationships and trust while receiving Catechesis and guidance from adult mentors. Cynthia Delgado will be mentoring the young women's group and Collin Medeiros will be mentoring the young men.  
  • Catholicism Series
  • Bishop Robert Baron - for Adult participants
  • Journey deep into the faith with Bishop Robert Baron in small groups.  For those who participated in Alpha this Fall, these sessions may be a continuation of your Alpha small groups.

Reflection Day - UW NEWMAN CTR
Single Catholic Young Adult Women and Men are invited to a Reflection Day on Consecrated Life to explore a Call to Religious Life as Sisters, Brothers, or Priests on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 9:30am to 2:30pm at University of Washington Newman Center (4502 20th Ave. NE Seattle 981050. This day is hosted by Religious Communities of Women and Men serving in the Archdiocese of Seattle.  Lunch is provided.  Please sign up by March 14th.

Blessing of the Throats
There will be Blessing of the Throats at daily Mass on Wednesday, February 3rd in honor of the Feast of St. Blaise.

Mass - Children's Liturgy 
Faith Formation students will be serving as ministers on January 31st at the 10:30 Mass. If you have children in Pre-k through 8th grade classes, please plan to attend.  The kids will be serving as Lectors,Greeters, Altar Servers, singing and offering Prayers of the Faithful.

Stations of the Cross
Thank you for all the people who adopted a station in 2015. We are once again adopting stations for 2016. If you would like a station call the office and your station preference. The effort involves making sure your station is clean and tidy; time effort is about 30 minutes a month.

Book group to discuss Marcus Borg novel
Putting Away Childish Things, a novel by the theologian Marcus Borg, will be discussed by the Vashon Ecumenical Book Group from 4 to 5:30 pm, Sun., Feb. 7, in the conference room at St. John Vianney Church, 16100 115th Ave. SW.  All are welcome. Borg, best known for his books on Christ and the Bible, tells a story of a female theology professor facing life dilemmas.

The survey will only be available from the week of January 18 through Ash Wednesday, February 10 and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide feedback on what efforts the parish is doing to help you grow.  All responses will be confidential and the parish will only receive information about the community as whole.
