CRS Rice Bowl--Palm Sunday
Encounter Our Neighbors
We encounter Jesus this week in Jerusalem, a community he knew well. We prayerfully enter our own communities too, encountering those who are hungry and thirsty, and those who need our help. How does our Lenten journey motivate us to serve those we meet in our daily lives? Visit for more. Thank you for including Rice Bowl as a part of your Lenten faith life!

Please remember to bring your family’s Rice Bowls to Mass on Holy Thursday. Fr. David will ask that all Rice Bowls be brought forward during the Offertory. Thank you.

The Passion of the Christ

The movie will have one showing only, on Tuesday, April 16, and will begin promptly at 6PM. All parishioners are invited (admission is free), so please consider attending as a prayerful Lenten activity. Please note, this film is not for children.

This weekend after all Masses a St.Vincent de Paul volunteer will be collecting donations. Please give generously in support of those in need
on our island.

Divine Mercy Sunday Lamb Roast and Potluck
just 2 weeks away
You and yours are invited to a traditional 'cordero al asador' lamb spit roast.

Let us gather
at 1:30pm to watch the final stages of the roast.  We'll take it off the fire at 2 to rest, while we enter the sanctuary and begin a Holy Hour with Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We'll follow with our traditional Divine Mercy Chaplet with a Benediction to follow.
Then we'll carve the meat at 4pm and serve the meal shortly thereafter. We'll play field games and enjoy the graces of the day until 6:30 or so. We'll be roasting all day; come when you can, morning, noon or evening.

Meat and flatbread will be provided.  Appetizers, side-dishes, desserts and drinks will be potluck style, so bring your favorite dish. Hopefully weather will permit outdoor play of all kinds. All are welcome. Bring your friends and family and celebrate this 2nd Sunday of Easter with us.

There have been some adjustments to the Altar Serving protocol in the past year and a half, so all experienced Altar Servers are being asked to attend a Refresher Training Session. This class will be held the first Sundays of April and May. This refresher training will allow our veteran Altar Servers to renew their commitment to assisting Fr. David in celebrating the Mass, as well as to hone their skills. All Altar Servers should plan to attend on May 5, 12:30-2:00. Thank you to all our Altar Servers for their ministry in our parish.

A few more parishioners have agreed to share their time and talent by joining the SJV Prayer Garden Improvement Committee. Are there more of you? Please think about our forest glade with the Stations of the Cross path and the Rosary “beads” and be part of making it an even more significant part of our parish. Join the committee and share your ideas about how we can make our SJV grounds more lovely. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the vestibule.
